Sodium Borate, Decahydrate, Powder, also known as borax or sodium tetraborate, is a white crystalline powder that easily dissolves in water. Sodium borate has many uses including but not limited to; detergents, cosmetics, enamel glazes, fire retardant, and a texturing agent in cooking. As an ACS grade quality reagent, its chemical specifications are the de facto standards for chemicals used in many high-purity applications and typically designate the highest quality chemical available for laboratory use.
