Benzyl Benzoate, USP is used as an antiparasitic insecticide against human scabies. It is an easily prepared compound and the ester of benzyl alcohol and benzoic acid. Used as an antiparasitic insecticide against scabies mites, it is also used as a solvent, food additive and plasticizer.
